Grand Master 2000-2003

Biography of M.W. Bro. Tucker, 26th Grand Master
Geoffrey Dean Tucker was born in Adelaide, South Australia on 28th May 1936. His early life was spent at Maitland on Yorke Peninsula where his father was the manager of Farmers Union. He completed his early education there and then at Adelaide Boys High School. In 1954 he entered Adelaide Teachers College and subsequently took up teaching positions at a number of country schools including Cassini on Kangaroo Island, Maitland and other schools on Yorke Peninsula. He was headmaster of Streaky Bay Area School and Crystal Brook Primary School and returned to the city to take up similar positions at Marion primary School and Highgate Primary School. He completed a Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration and was appointed Inspector of schools in 1978. Geoff completed his career with the Education Department as Director of Overseas Operations in 1991 when he retired.
In his younger years Geoff was a very active sportsman enjoying athletics, football, cricket, tennis and golf. He still loves to play golf when he gets time. He is a regular communicant at St Elizabeth's Anglican Church. He enjoys following the "Crows", playing bridge and working in his garden which he keeps immaculate. When he can, Geoff joins his wife Pam in the activities of the South Australian Light Opera Society - usually in the chorus.

Geoff married Pam Bateman in 1959. They reside at 37 Spruce Avenue, Warradale. They have four children and are the proud grand-parents of seven grand children.

Geoff was initiated in Yorke Valley Lodge in 1958 and became Master of Edwardstown Lewis Lodge in 1982. He has been involved in the ceremonial and administrative activities of Grand Lodge since 1983. 

MW Brother Geoffrey Dean Tucker was installed as MW Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of South Australia and the Northern Territory at a public ceremony in Adelaide on Saturday, 15th April 2000.
