Grand Lecturer, the Education
Committee, Courses & Resources

Purpose of the Education Committee The
purpose
of the Education Committee is to promote knowledge of the history and
heritage
of Freemasonry and to provide advice when changes to established usages
and customs are being considered. It is chaired by the Grand
Lecturer
who is charged by the Regulations of Grand Lodge to promote and
encourage
the education of the Craft, and to supervise lecturers who have been
approved
to present lectures in Lodges other than their own.
Grand Lecturer The Grand Lecturer is charged by the Regulations of Grand Lodge to promote and encourage the education of the Craft, and to supervise lecturers who have been approved to present lectures in Lodges other than their own. He is assisted by a Deputy Grand Lecturer and other members of the Education Committee. Lecturers
are
available (by prior arrangement) to give lectures and other educational
presentations. To make arrangements for
lectures
please contact the Grand Lecturer via the Grand Secretary's Office.
Induction Course for new members Materials
are
available from the Grand Secretary's Office. Leadership Development Course A
Leadership
Development Course is offered annually or on demand. The course is open
to any
member
of any of the Masonic Orders, and has been developed to assist brethren
to prepare themselves to undertake the responsibilities of leadership,
particularly as Master of a Lodge. The Course seeks to equip
participants
with:- The course consists of two Seminars, each lasting one day. Part 1 is aimed at Junior Wardens and Deacons, while Part 2 is aimed at those who have completed Part 1, and Senior Wardens. Pre Course material is supplied for each Seminar. A Certificate of Achievement is awarded following completion of Part 2. Please

the Grand Secretary's Office for details of next course.
Course for the Diploma of Masonic Education A
diploma course
is offered over four years. On successful completion of each year
a Certificate is presented, and a Diploma of Masonic Education upon
satisfying
all requirements. The syllabus is available at the following link:
Other Courses
from South Australia A course in
Mark Masonry is offered by the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of
SA & NT.
Short Talk Competition A Short Talk Competition was arranged for some years. At present this is in recess.
J.R. Robertson Masonic Memorial Library and Archives The
Grand Library
and Archives are under the care of the Grand Librarian who is a member
of the Education Committee. Further information is

at the following link: Masonic Centre Museum An
extensive
collection of artefacts is held by the Grand Lodge. Only a small
portion of the collection can be displayed. Items from the
collection
are displayed on rotation, within the Adelaide Masonic Centre.

Bro. Murray Olsson has charge of the Museum and has a small web site at
Australian Museums On Line (AMOL) which informs of the Museum and shows
5 items on rotation. Over the years considerable success has been
achieved in attracting grants for various historical projects.
