FAMILY HISTORY ENQUIRIES:

Records held by this Grand Lodge contain limited information about South Australians and Territorians who were members, including the date of joining, the Lodge joined, and occupation at time of joining.  Earlier records may be in handwritten form, or no longer available.

Please note that enquiries are handled by the Adelaide Masonic Centre office staff when time permits - replies may take several months.   A payment of $15 is required to cover the cost of time spent searching our records.

We have no records for persons who NEVER resided in SA or NT - in such a case please write to the Grand Lodge of the State or Country concerned.

Those having general enquiries about Lodges are recommended in the first instance to consult the published histories of Freemasonry in South Australia and Northern Territory.  Copies are held in the State Library or the Grand Lodge Library - please see the reference list of books at the foot of the page at http://www.freemasonrysaust.org.au/historysant.html

Bearing the above in mind, if you have an enquiry about the membership of a deceased family member who resided in SA or NT,
please write a letter to the Grand Secretary:
  • giving the full name and dates of birth and death of the person concerned, and
  • including your name, address, phone number and relationship to the family member, and
  • enclosing a self-addressed stamped envelope and the sum of $15 to defray the cost of time spent searching our records
